It is understandable people are skeptical when presented with the idea of God. There are many reasons for that. Our natural self wants to run from God. God wants what's contrary to it. We hate change, confrontation or guilt. We look for ways to explain things away or numb our guilt. Man wants to believe the universe got here on its own. If I don't have to believe in God I don't have to obey Him or think about Him. Sin then becomes "natural" or "okay". We can justify and enjoy it guilt free. The fool says there is no God. Psalm 14:1 and 53:1 It is dangerous. We're just animals and ultimately anything goes. We start to worship ourselves and the things God created instead of Him. (Romans 1) We're not animals!!! We didn't evolve from primates. The argument is that life happened slowly over time. The argument FOR creation is that the human body is simply too complicated to ever happen on its own. Yes the body is complicated but there is a thinking that even really complicated things can be broken down into smaller less complicated things. While true in theory this is false with the human body. Even the small parts such as DNA or cells are extremely complicated. In addition those things are also arranged in a very complicated way.
Based on lack of archaeological evidence, known observation and mathematical probability, evolution and the big bank theory are beyond impossible. They sound plausible on the surface until you think about them. People trust scientists to come up with and prove theories and call it "science". True science, however is based on things that can be tested and proven. The reality is that no one was there to see these supposed scientific "facts" occur. It is all speculation and conjecture at best. It makes impossible look possible in comparison. Regardless of how it happened, whether slowly over time but by bit or quickly...it's impossible. This universe takes up a lot of space. Where did that space come from? It just happened to be here? Same with the energy in this universe and all the materials that comprise it. A bucket full of nothing in a hundred billion years is going to be a bucket full of nothing. Something can't arise out of nothing. That is foolish. Only God creates out of nothing.
There are a lot of assumptions with evolution. It starts in the middle of the story and relies on a number of things already being in place for it to happen, while providing no explanation how those things got there. If the Bible starts at the beginning so should science. If I can believe this earth got here on it's own I don't need to believe in God or any of His commands.
The human body alone is far too complicated to happen on its own. An intelligent design requires a designer. That is just one piece in a very large and complicated universe. It should at least make you question anything other than God. There is a lot we take for granted about it. Our body is intentional. It is designed to be like this. The Bible says we're created in the image of God. Something as simple as taking a bite of food or saying a word require such complex systems to carry out. Take a look at these videos of the human ear. There is no way it could happen on its own. This was clearly designed. Whether we turn the microscope in or the telescope out there is overwhelming, silencing evidence of God.

Some people overlook Jesus because they may have had a bad experience with a church or other christian. It may take time to get through to them.

Jesus was a penniless itinerant who lived 2000 years ago. His name spread like wildfire and people were willing to be put to death for Him. He turned the world upside down within a very short period of time after His death. To put it into perspective David Koresh who died in 1993 during a standoff between police and the Branch Davidian cult he led is quoted as saying, "If the Bible is true, then I'm Christ." He died 23 years ago and you almost never hear anything about him. His cult never grew legs and took off, Jesus died 2000 years ago and He has an unmatched and profound influence on the world. Why? There were over 500 people who saw a man who was a bloody, mangled crucified mess one day, come back to life, walk around and teach 3 days later. That's why. Peter said, "For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. There are many writings and accounts of Jesus from scholars and bewildered government officials of His day outside the Bible. They corroborate perfectly with the gospels. In other words it's not just the Bible that tells us so but historical writings. He was either the Son of God or a lunatic. Given His impact we know which one He was. Satan has tried to put impostors out there and muddy the water but the Truth will always speak for itself." (Peter 1:16 KJV)
Believing in God takes faith. The best person to prove to you God exists is God. Take a step of faith and talk to Him. What does it hurt. Look for Him. Thomas would not believe Jesus rose from the dead despite everything everyone was telling Him. Look what Jesus said to Him in (John 20:29 NIV) Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
(Hebrews 11:6 NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Not true. The bible says not to kill or steal. Can you disagree? Is murder less wrong now or is stealing more okay now than it was a few thousand years ago? Nothing has changed. The message is the same. You can't go wrong following the Bible. If God isn't capable of getting His word to you the way He wants it to then He can't hold you to it and He's not God. Period. Don't assume you can pick and choose and throw out parts you feel don't fit in your life or a modern society because it "changed" or was "polluted by man". God's word is true and disobeying it never ends well. There's a reason our world is getting darker and more violent. Watch the news. Man's way never works.
x
It doesn't say that. If someone is doing something they shouldn't be it is not only our right but our duty to speak out. We will share in their guilt if we don't. Leviticus 19:17 and even more severely in Ezekiel 3:18-21. See also Titus 1:13; 2:15 and Proverbs 15:31-32. The Bible says not to be a hypocrite. It never says not to judge. Let's look at an example to give. If a murderer tells another murderer not to murder is he being a hypocrite? Yes. Is he wrong? No. Should he keep quiet and not say anything? No. If that is the standard you are going to hold everyone to we have all sinned and no one would be able to say anything to anyone. Parents wouldn't be able to discipline their children because they would be judging them and a police officer could never arrest anyone. It is an excuse. It is easier to take the focus off what we do.

Myth: If I can find a flaw or contradiction in the Bible, or something that doesn't make sense, I don't have to listen to it or believe it's the Word of God or I can destroy its credibility. I can follow it loosely and treat it as a buffet and I don't have to believe it word for word. Reality: The Bible NEVER says you are welcome to (or have permission to) dismiss a verse because you don't understand it. If you don't understand it ask the Lord for wisdom. James 5:8; A lot of the Old Testament laws are there as symbols of what Jesus would do. We no longer have to follow them because Jesus fulfilled these with His death on the cross and is a more perfect version of those things. For example the Bible tells us in Leviticus not eating shellfish is a symbol of not associating with the gentiles or adopting their practices such as human sacrifice or lewd sexual acts. It was also addressed in Acts 11 when Peter had the vision from God and was sent to the Gentiles.
Bottom line they're all excuses. Don't take the blame off yourself or put on someone else. You will stand alone on Judgement Day. You can nit-pick and fault-find and blame-game your way to hell. No one can stop you. You only hurt yourself. Don't go to hell over a mystery. Don't go to hell over something you don't understand. Ask.

Jesus overturned the Old Testament so all the stuff in there doesn't apply anymore. Jesus did not undo the O.T. He fulfilled it. Matthew 5:17

Why does God put sickness on people? Why won't God do anything. God did do something. He made you. What are you doing about it? He give us many blessings. He doesn't just dump terror and judgement on us all day long. Every good and perfect gift is from Him. He created life for us to enjoy but never to replace Him. If God just wanted to punish us He could. The fact that He allows us many blessings and joy and things to be thankful for proves He is good. Bad things do happen for sure but they don't always come from God. They may also be a test. Getting mad at God because someone dies is foolish. We all die. No one gets out of life alive. 1 Peter 4:1-4; 4:17, 2 Timothy 4:2-5
x
Define hate. … No, don't bother because they don't. There's a difference between taking away others rights and causing them harm or violence or speaking about your faith in Jesus in truth and love or speaking out against things that should not be happening. We care about you. We have a duty to speak of the things he's done in my life.
x
We hear this a lot. Some people think because He doesn't strike us down that He agrees with us. We sin easily and think nothing of it because God doesn't punish us on the spot. He is patient and waits. We start to think He thinks like us because He's silent. Psalm 90 addresses this. To better understand hell listen to this quote from TBN founder/co-president Jan Crouch, “We are free either to love God or not. He invites us to love Him, urges us to love Him; He came that we might love Him. But then in the end the choice is yours and the choice is mine. For Him to take that choice from us. For Him to force us love him would NOT be love. God explains the benefits of His love He outlines the promises and articulates very clearly the consequences. But then in the end He leaves the choice to us. Hell was not prepared for people. Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels. For a person to go to hell then is for a person to go against God's intended destiny. God has not intended us to the terrors of judgment but to the full attainment of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Hell is man's choice. Not God's choice. Consider this as an explanation of hell. Hell is the chosen place of a person who loves self more than he loves God. Who loves sin more than he loves his Savior. Who loves this world more than he loves God's world and judgement is that moment when God looks at the rebellious, any of us all of us and says, “Your choice will be honored by me.” [In other words we didn't choose Him and now He is giving us what we asked for]. Hell is an ultimate expression of a just Creator. Why? To reject the dualist outcome of history is to say there is no hell. It leaves gaping holes, and any banner of a just God. To say there is no hell is to say that God condones the rebellious, unrepentant and those that don't accept His Savior. To say there is no hell is to portray God with blinded eyes to the hunger in the world and the evil in this world. To say there is no hell is to say that God doesn't care that people are beaten and massacred. That God doesn't care that women are raped and that families are wrecked. To say there is no hell is to say that God has no justice. No sense of right and wrong, and eventually to say that God has no love; for true love has to HATE evil. So hell is an ultimate expression of a just creator." God takes no pleasure in anyone's death or sending anyone to hell. (2 Peter 3:9-15 and Ezekiel 18:19-32 & 33:11)

There are two types: Voluntary and involuntary and God addresses involuntary slavery in Exodus. Voluntary slavery is just that. You have a choice. Our armed forces and military become government property when they make the decision to join. They must give their life for their country and sacrifice many things. How does this differ from voluntary slavery?

Why can't he just come down and tell us Himself? No one understands a person like another person. Would you rather hear this from me now while there's something you can do about it or hear it from God Himself face to face on Judgement Day when it will be too late. One person who has been healed from addiction or has struggled with something would be much better at helping someone else going through the same thing. What did God tell them? What worked for them? What verses did they stand on? Even knowing you're not alone helps.
